The Farm Bill 2007: Understanding the Political, Agricultural, and Nutritional Impact

or
Understanding What You Pay For an Apple or a Twinkie Can Affect Public Health

Sponsored by the Wagner Health Network Student Group

Eating is about choice, but what do you eat? When shopping for groceries, would you choose an apple or a Twinkie? What if your choice to is already made for you by agribusiness? What regulations are in place to preserve the quality of your food? Why does the Farm Bill fall under the radar of the general consumer? What is the impact of current grassroots movements calling attention to the quality of our food?

Our panel will explore the impact this bill has on the determinants of health especially in urban environments.

Panelists include:
Marion Nestle Paulette Goddard Professor of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health, New York University
